Friends of School Meeting

Attendees:
Present: L. Monk P. Brindle, R. Dalton, R. Harding, M. Long, S. McLelland, A.Watts, P. Rabina.

Apologies:
E O'Donaghue and C Stokes

Finance:
The current books indicate that we now have £6000 in the bank. Recent fundraising efforts include:

  • £1000 for the sponsored bounce
  • £70 for the easter egg competition


There was a suggestion that prizes for each class would be a better option next year.

Quiz night:

Friday 19th May 2006 at 8:00 PM

This will take place in the large school hall. Entrance is £5.00 per team, maximum 4 per team. Any parents welcome to attend to make up a group if you can't make a team.

Prizes
There will be a prizes for teams for 1st ,2nd and 3rd

Some of the stock of wine and beer to be used for prizes: see licencing act requirements for details

Refreshments
Due to licence changes, you may bring your own alcoholic drinks. There will be light refreshments and nibbles available.

Tables to be set up after school ready for the evening. Ruth to buy nibbles and soft drinks.

Pauline and Ruth to review the current stock level in the store cupboard.

Ruth to confirm the requirement for pencils and paper with the quiz master.

Quad Bikes arranged
Bouncy Castle and slide to be arranged.

Investigate options for getting outside catering for the fayre.

Disco
Plans for disco to be confirmed. There would be an entrance fee, but we would provide a free goody bag. Ruth Dalton to add details to news letter. Possible dates Friday 21st July or Monday 24th July.

School Leavers
Confirmed that there will be a £3 voucher for each year six leaver.

Treasurer
Ian has epressed an interest in becoming treasurer. Ruth to hand over accounts after checking the books at AGM.

Musical
This years summer musical will be Summer Carnival: Anansi - The Spider from Fishponds

Plan for shows 17th ,18th and 19th. 18th and 19th to having evening shows.

Possible options for open air performance. To be discussed by Ruth Dalton. Friends to look at the options for providing refreshments.

A request was made for the friends to fund raise for lighting and sound equipement for the new hall and once the playground fund raising is complete.

Car Boot Sale

Ruth to confirm with Howard date is ok.

Date and Time June 10th 09:00 to 12:00 - doors open 09:45.

4th July 2006 07:00 PM in the school.

AGM will be 21st Sepetember.
